Received my Staging Packet Today!

Wow…how exciting, I received my staging packet today!

Staging is going to be in DC on Saturday July 12-Monday July 14th.  I’ll be flying out the Louisville airport early Saturday morning and arriving in DC around noon.  I’ll be taking a shuttle or taxi from the airport to the hotel in Georgetown that I’ll be staying at on Saturday and Sunday. Staging will be held at the same hotel.

Registration will begin at 1:30…right after I arrive at the hotel from the airport on Saturday. After registration, the training program will start immediately at 3pm-7pm. Training continues on Sunday from 8:30am-6:00pm. Then on Monday, I’ll be checking out of the hotel at 6:30am and departing for the clinic to get all of my vaccinations.  My flight will depart later that day for South Africa.

My flight to South Africa will be a 17hr flight (WOW) with no stops except once to refuel.  However, we will not be able to leave the plane during refueling.  I’m sure I’ll sleep a lot during the flight to South Africa, after the busy time at staging…unless I’m too excited to sleep. My flight will arrive in South Africa sometime on Tuesday July 15th.

After I arrive in South Africa, I’ll be staying in Mpumalanga, South Africa for a few days, and then I’ll be moving in with a family in one of the nearby villages.

I also called Sato Travel to request my plane tickets today.  I just checked my email, and they have already emailed me an electronic copy of the tickets!  Wow, it’s finally starting to seem “real” now!!
