Peace Corps Invitation Kit Content Information

The waiting process to receive your PC invitation can be agonizing.  While waiting for my invitation, I searched the web for invitation kit content information, but was not able to locate anything.  So since I have received my invitation, I thought I would give those of you waiting for an invitation a little treat.  Not only am I going to list the content of my invitation kit, but I’m also going to include pictures.  Now, those non-PC volunteers out there might think posting pics of the invitation kit might seem a little weird, but those of you waiting for an invitation will completely understand! Besides, the pics give me an excuse to use the new camera that Marea bought me for my birthday!  You can find the invitation pics if you click on the photo tab above.

  My Invitation Kit Content:

  • A big white envelope that says “Invitation Kit” on the front.
  • An invitation letter signed by my PO (I’ll post the letter in another post soon)
  • “Your Assignment” Booklet-The cover of this 16 page booklet indicates country of service, job title, staging, etc. The booklet includes: History of the Program, Your primary job duties, Secondary Projects, Working Conditions, Training, Living Conditions, Potential Challenges and Rewards, Comments from Volunteers.
  • A blue file holder, with five file folders inside
  • Folder One: Passport and Visa-This includes passport and visa applications and instructions; instructions on how to access your country of service welcome book, and a letter from the president (I might post this letter in another post later). Visit http://www.peacecorps.gov/welcomebooks/zawb674.pdf for the South Africa Welcome Book
  • Folder Two: Resume & Personal Papers-This folder includes an instruction sheet on how to complete another essay (Aspiration Statement) and another resume.  You have 10 days from the time you receive your invitation, to email an updated resume and aspiration statement to your country of service staff. I’ll post my aspiration statement here soon.
  • Folder Three: Finance & Insurance-This folder contains income tax, student loan, debt, PC life insurance, and personal article insurance information.
  • Folder Four: Staging Materials-This folder is empty, so that you can add stuff you need during staging.
  • Folder Five: Domestic Connections-This folder contains info for the Coverdell World Wise School’s Correspondence Match Program, PC press packet, and Fellows\USA graduate school info.
  • And last, a Fed-Ex envelope to mail your passport and visa applications.

  4. Что то слишком мудрено… И по-моему расчитано на блогера чем на вебмастера
